Job Description

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Bloomfield, NY!

The primary function of this position will be thermoforming set up however will perform regular preventative and minor maintenance of production equipment and facilities when allowed.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1. Conducts routine Tool Changes on the forming equipment including Mold and Trim tool setup.
2. Lubricates and repairs machinery.
3. Cleans and replaces as necessary all equipment filters such as; air conditioner, water, airlines, oil and electrical panels.
4. Assists in the maintenance of the parts room, conducting regular inventory, and deliveries and pick-ups.
5. Assists other set up associates and maintenance mechanics as necessary.
6. Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
7. Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”

 
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 
6 months to a year or related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.

 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.

 
REASONING ABILITY

 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
