We are seeking an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Interim Director of Pharmacyfor a 325-bed community hospital. This is an ASAP start, 13+ week assignment, Monday to Friday day shifts.
Position Overview:
The Interim Director of Pharmacy will work closely with the hospitals Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide operational leadership, staff coaching, and strategic guidance to ensure safe, effective, and compliant medication management. This role will focus on driving performance improvement, maintaining regulatory compliance, and leading key initiatives in personnel management, medication safety, expense control, and workflow optimization.
Responsibilities:
Partner with the PIC to manage daily operations and advance the departments strategic priorities
Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
Maintain compliance with DEA, USP, and state regulations; ensure survey readiness
Lead projects related to pharmacy operations, clinical services, purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, revenue cycle, and staff development
Collaborate with hospital executives, medical staff, pharmacy department staff, and interdisciplinary teams to meet hospital and department goals
Requirements:
5 years of recent/current Director of Pharmacy experience in a similar setting (larger hospital)
Active GA pharmacist license
BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
